Bespoke Screening
We will always ask our clients whether there are any sectors or companies that they would not wish to invest it. We will then do our best to screen these negative companies or sectors out of a client’s portfolio.
This is broadly ‘ethical’ investing but it can be more precise than this. Not every client has an ethical preference. Some have no preference at all and some object to a single sector or company because they have had a bad experience with them.
We have clients who have shares and stock options from Alphabet, Apple, Microsoft, Nvidia, Phoenix and many more and don’t want to invest further into these firms through their portfolio. We have Vegans who want their portfolios to match this lifestyle choice. We have clients who have had a bad family experience with alcohol, tobacco or gambling. It is always possible to screen sectors and companies out of a portfolio and it will only affect performance if the screening is heavy and excludes hundreds of companies.
Bespoke Screening is available to Altor clients in our Core Service and ethical portfolios are available to clients in our Core, Discounted and Family Services.
